| | Okay, it has been officially two months since I've updated this blog. Why haven't I been updating? It's not because I've been swamped with work the last two months. It would be a good excuse, but it's not the reason. Nor is it because I simply have nothing to write about. Thinking back, the past two months have been full of highs, lows, first and lasts; each significant rise and fall of the curve enough material to make, at the very least, a full-blown rant. But I didn't write. Maybe I just didn't feel like it, or maybe I even forgot I had a blog. I don't know. So... since I can't seem to find any valid excuse for stopping, I think it's time to start again. Here goes.
May. I started Sibol-Hesus. And I have to admit, it was harder than I thought it would be. There's just something about getting up at 6:00 in the morning knowing that the rest of the student population is blissfully taking advantage of the fact that they can wake up six hours later or more. But you know what? There's also just something about knowing that in the six hours you could have spent sleeping, you spent teaching and learning at the same time from students you can't help but love. And that's worth getting up in 6:00 in the morning.
June. I started college life in UP. And I have to say, UP really isn't Ateneo. In Ateneo, waiting in line doesn't take that long. In Ateneo, not everyone brings with them an umbrella and a coin purse. In Ateneo, jeeps are not the primary way to get around the campus. In Ateneo, you don't find fishball stands in almost everywhere you look. In Ateneo, they don't have unique PE classes like stretching and duck-pin bowling. In Ateneo, you don't realize how good it feels to be in an air-conditioned room. In Ateneo, students don't just come into your classes and try to persuade you to rally against the government. I'm glad i went to UP. |
